How much does a bathroom remodel cost?
A basic bathroom remodel often runs $12,000 to $25,000. A larger one with a walk-in shower and custom tile can go above $35,000.
How long does a remodel take?
A bathroom usually takes 3 to 5 weeks and a kitchen 6 to 10 weeks. Cabinet and counter lead times are the biggest factor, and we tell you early.
Do I need a permit?
Most remodels with plumbing, electrical or walls need a City of Houston permit. We pull the permits and schedule the inspections.
Are you licensed?
Texas does not license remodelers, so we hire only licensed trades. Plumbing is done by TSBPE licensed plumbers and electrical by TDLR licensed electricians. We carry general liability insurance (demo license).

Additions and structural work

If the wall is load-bearing, yes. We confirm what the wall holds before we cut anything.
How long does an addition take?
Many take 3 to 6 months, including permits and inspections.
Will an addition raise my property taxes?
Probably, yes. The appraisal district may update your home’s value after a permitted addition.
Do I need approval from my HOA?
Most HOAs require plan approval before work begins.
Flooring
What floor is best for Houston humidity?
Luxury vinyl plank, porcelain tile and engineered wood handle it best. Solid hardwood can cup.
Can you install over my old floor?
Sometimes. We check the old floor’s condition and height.
How long does a flooring install take?
A single room can take a day. A whole house can take one to two weeks.
Do I need to move furniture?
We can move light furniture. Heavy items you should empty or tell us about before the visit.
Cabinets and countertops
Quartz or granite?
Quartz resists stains and needs no sealing. Granite is natural and needs sealing. Both work well in Houston.
How long do countertops take?
Usually two to four weeks from template to install.
Can you reface my cabinets?
If the boxes are in good shape, refacing can save money. We check them first.
Do you move plumbing for a new sink?
A licensed plumber does it. Moving drains costs more on slab homes.
Repairs after water damage
Does insurance cover water damage?
Many policies cover sudden leaks but not slow ones or floods. Call your insurer first and take photos.
How fast does mold grow?
It can begin within a day or two in warm, damp conditions.
Do you handle the insurance paperwork?
We provide the scope, photos and invoices your adjuster needs.
Can you repair a floodplain home?
Yes. If damage is over half the home’s value, extra City rules may apply. We help you check.
Cost
Why do remodels go over budget?
Hidden damage, late selections and extra requests are the usual causes. A written scope and change orders keep it in check.
Should I get three bids?
Yes. Compare scope, not just price, and check that each bid includes permits and licensed trades.
How much should I keep as a contingency?
Many remodelers suggest 10 to 20 percent, more for older homes.
Are these your prices?
No. They are typical Houston ranges. Prices marked as ours come from our own price list.
